Dr Ortwin Aschenborn
Ortwin is a Namibian wildlife veterinarian with many years of experience in management and treatment of African wildlife. Through many years of on-the-ground-work he as a practical and conservation-oriented approach to problems, with a love for new innovative ideas. Within GAIA, Ortwin heads and coordinates the Namibian side of the Initiative mainly in the field.
Professional experience
Qualified since 2002 as a veterinarian, worked in conservation and research in Etosha National park and Zambezi Region of Namibia. Five years of lecturing at the School of Veterinary Medicine in Namibia, investing in the youth and kindeling the love for wildlife and conservation in the next generation of Namibian veterinarians. Many years of flying experience as a bush pilot for conservation.
